Experiential Learning
Workshops
All of ACI’s programs are experiential, so hands-on learning
and activities are paramount. Participants use what they have
learned before they complete the training—prior to resuming their
busy lives.
Length of training
The team usually meets from a half a day to three days of
experiential team learning and building, and one or two
leaders/facilitators are assigned. Next, the participants receive
tools and resources designed to meet the desired outcomes of the
training.
Co-designed programs
Active Choices, Inc. co-designs programs with clients prior to
the team learning component. Organizations can choose a focus that
fits their needs and all existing
programs can be modified to meet your unique needs. Clients
often focus on areas such as:
-
Leadership development
-
Improving communication skills
-
Creating sustainable leadership
-
Balancing life and work
-
Building effective teams.
Learning Labs & Group Coaching
(Follow Up to Workshops)
Follow-up options
ACI always recommends
follow-up to all training provided, such as one-on-one
coaching, group coaching
or learning labs. Without follow-up, studies show that participants can
forget what they’ve learned in as little as two weeks.
One-on-one coaching—Participants
are assigned to a personal coach based on their desire for
individualized work with a coach. The coach and client will address
whichever areas are important to the client for creating
sustainability and more powerful leadership in their lives.
- Coaching is scheduled on a regular basis, generally 2-3
times/month
- Sessions are 30-60 minutes each
- Sessions take place by phone, and with prior arrangement can
be done on site
- Gives the individual a safe unbiased place to explore and
focus life and leadership
- Deepen the learning from the program
- Forward the action of the client to serve the client's goals
- Reinforce creating sustainability for the client so as to
create positive habits
- Reduced stress, improved resiliency, improved engagement and
fulfillment, and increased productivity are some of the common
outcomes of one on one coaching.
Group coaching—Participants
are placed in groups of 3-5 to work together and elicit many of the
benefits of one on one coaching - in a group setting. Benefits of
group coaching are cost effectiveness and fostering a team
relationship, while each participant learns from the others'
experiences.
Learning lab—The
assembled team meets again, this time from two to four weeks after
the training session is complete. Labs are scheduled throughout the
next quarter. Learning Lab Sessions:
-
Run from 75-120 minutes each
-
Lock in techniques learned earlier
-
Deepen relationships through group dialog and coaching
-
Allow participants to learn from experiences of others
-
Offer an opportunity support others
-
Reinforce use of tools from the workshop.
Cost of ACI’s programs
As each program is
co-designed with the client, pricing varies and is based on the
program length, preparation time, materials and expenses (if
applicable) and participation. Upon completion of a needs
assessment, ACI will submit a proposal for services detailing
program logistics, outcomes and fees.
